Pianist Margaret Mills (pictured below), who spearheaded the festival’s New Composers Concerts from 1990-2006, is joining the festival’s 50th Anniversary Celebration with a program featuring the women composers Ruth Schonthal, Miriam Gideon and Amy Beach. Violinist Jeffrey Ellenberger and cellist Robert Tennen will collaborate with Mills in Beach’s Piano Trio, opus 150.
This special “musical reunion” concert will be on Saturday, July 23, at 8 p.m. at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, 29 Mount Desert Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609. Tickets are $25 and student tickets are $15.
